This short film focused on some of the local independent businesses in New Brighton, such as the stalwart Ian Forber, a greengrocer who has been on Victoria Road for decades.

I also spoke to Cathy Roberts from Literally ... A Bookshop who provided some fascinating insights on how businesses serve as beacons and hubs for the local community, and how the restrictions during the pandemic put a stop to this.

Alison Christy, the manager of Wirral School of Dance described the perils of teaching dance over Zoom while her business had to remain closed for months on end.

And the manager of The Bow-Legged Beagle John Smith had a few thoughts to offer on how hospitality was unfairly bearing a lot of the blame on the spike in COVID cases.

The series was called "A SLICE OF LIFE" and showed the struggles that local individuals and businesses faced during the height of the pandemic and the restrictions that had been enforced upon us all by the UK government.
